Russ Walsh

President, Ally Insurance

Russ Walsh has served as president of Ally Insurance since September 2025. In this role, he oversees Ally’s insurance operations, including commercial property and casualty products for dealers as well as consumer products, encompassing vehicle service contracts, gap protection & other F&I products.

Walsh joined Ally in 2009. Prior to his current role, Walsh served as senior vice president, head of auto commercial operations and risk for Ally’s Dealer Financial Services business. He was responsible for commercial lending, remarketing operations and pricing, consumer pricing and residual setting, business line risk management, technology operations, and learning and development.

Previously, Walsh was the chief financial officer for Ally’s Dealer Financial Services business line and oversaw fiscal management of $120 billion in assets from the auto finance and insurance operations.

Before joining Ally, Walsh worked at Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, where he consulted with portfolio companies to improve their financial processes and performance and evaluated acquisition targets. He started his finance career with GE Capital and is a graduate of its financial management program.

Walsh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania.
