Gunther T. Bright

Former Executive Officer, American Express

Director of Ally since 2025, Mr. Bright has most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Global Commercial Services at American Express from 2020 through 2023. Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager, Global Merchant and Network Services 2014 to 2020. He began his career at American Express in 1987 and has held increasingly senior leadership roles since that time. Mr. Bright currently serves as a director for TPG Inc.  Mr. Bright received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Pace University and completed an advanced executive management program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
