
William (Bill) Hall, Jr.
President, Corporate Finance
Bill Hall is the president of Ally Corporate Finance, a subsidiary of Ally Financial, Inc., and leads the sponsor finance, private credit finance, and specialty finance teams. Under his leadership, these groups provide senior secured loans to companies owned by private equity sponsors and leading asset managers, specializing in leveraged lending, lender finance and priority revolvers, and diverse sectors including real estate, energy and infrastructure, and technology. Hall was named to the role in 2006 and reports to the CEO.
Hall has more than four decades of experience in the leverage finance and secured lending arena. He previously served as chief operating officer for Ally Corporate Finance, president of corporate finance’s European operations, and interim head of the former Ally Credit Card and Ally Home businesses. Hall also co-founded GMAC’s structured finance division, a predecessor company to corporate finance.
Prior to joining Ally, Hall served as a senior vice president of Heller Financial. He was responsible for a team of professionals originating and underwriting leveraged loans. He also held several roles at National Westminster Bank, including department head for private equity loan origination.
Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bucknell University.
