Nov 29, 2006
LOS ANGELES – Guests at the Los Angeles Auto Show looking for their dream car can take advantage of GMAC's free SmartEdge financial education seminars during public days at the show. The seminars will help unlock the mysteries of personal credit and help consumers budget for their dream car.
Show attendees are invited to participate in a one hour SmartEdge seminar onsite at the Los Angeles Convention Center. All participants will be entered to win a video iPod to be awarded to one lucky winner from each seminar*. GMAC will host three seminars daily on Dec. 1,2,4,6, and 8. Seminars will be held at 11:00 a.m., 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in room 303AB.
Seminar participants can increase their understanding of automotive financing, credit scores and the resulting effect on finance rates. SmartEdge also addresses the importance of creating a personal budget in determining purchase decisions.
“SmartEdge is a wonderful and energetic way to educate consumers about personal credit and vehicle financing options, and what better place to do it than the auto show,” said Barbara Stokel, executive vice president, GMAC North American Operations. “The SmartEdge program can help consumers establish healthier personal finance habits and set a budget that makes narrowing their choice for a new vehicle easier.”
SmartEdge focuses on teaching consumers how to establish good credit, manage a budget and evaluate vehicle financing options. The program and consumer tips are free to everyone with absolutely no strings attached.
SmartEdge by GMAC will be hosting financial literacy events at all four of the major U.S. auto shows in Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago and New York. In addition, GMAC will conduct 1,500 local SmartEdge events around the country every year.
SmartEdge by GMAC program information is also available online at www.SmartEdgebyGMAC.com. The site hosts video seminars, online tutorials and program workbooks—all available in Spanish and English for free download.
