Mathew Pendo was appointed to the Ally board in April 2013 and formerly served as the chief investment officer of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) for the Department of the Treasury. In that capacity, he managed the wind-down of the TARP investment programs, including the bank support programs, credit market programs, automotive industry support program and AIG.
Prior to his time with the U.S. Treasury, Matt spent seven years as a managing director in investment banking at Barclays Capital, including roles as co-head of U.S. investment banking and co-head of global industrials. Prior to Barclays, Matt spent 18 years at Merrill Lynch in investment banking in New York, Los Angeles, and Palo Alto working with companies in the financial services and technology industries.
Matt currently serves on the board for the New Canaan Country School and previously served on the Board for the Collegiate Charter Schools of Brooklyn. Matt graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1985 with a degree in economics.
