The Institute Award is based on a comprehensive independent pan-European survey among manufacturers, dealers and consumers. GMAC’s recognised strengths were notably innovation and credibility in the automotive financing industry and the ITM found motorists and dealers alike rightly impressed with the GMAC product range. The company, operating globally under the Ally and GMAC brands, was cited as having built a solid reputation worldwide with a suite of finance solutions that make it simple and affordable for customers to buy with confidence, while its wholesale finance plans allow dealers to carry a comprehensive range of new and used vehicles. Patrick Sheedy, Director of Media & Corporate Affairs of ITM commented: “Companies that effectively communicate the benefits of their product through a good dealer network, develop fresh products to meet new demands and listen to their customers are the ones that rise to the top and it is because of this that the Institute has given GMAC the title of “Best Automotive Finance Company 2012.” Mark F. Bole, Executive Vice President, Ally Financial International Automotive Finance Operations, said: "We are proud of this recognition for GMAC as it represents very positive feedback from our valuable customers, the manufacturers and many dealers, we do business with in the UK and several other European countries." The Institute of Transport Management is a non-profit organisation founded in the UK in 1977 to help monitor and improve standards in the transport industry. It recognises and awards industry members for significant achievements in the development of transport solutions through its annual awards programme (www.itmworld.com).
