James N. Young
James Young was named chief financial executive of Ally Bank in May 2011. In this role, he is responsible for the oversight of all finance and treasury activities of the Bank. Previously Young served as chief financial officer for the mortgage operations of Ally Financial Inc. and Residential Capital, LLC (ResCap). In that role he was responsible for financial oversight, analysis, controls and reporting, accounting and business planning for the company’s mortgage-related operations. Young also held a number of other leadership roles at ResCap, including deputy CFO, Residential Finance Group CFO, chief accounting officer and controller. Prior to joining ResCap in 2005, Young was at KPMG LLP for 23 years, including 12 years as partner. During his tenure, he served many publicly-held financial institutions and worked in several key roles, including: leader of the Chicago banking practice, the Midwest area banking practice development leader and SEC reviewing partner.
